Climate and the Money Trail

September 28, 2019 (F. William Engdahl - NEO) - Climate. Now who wudda thought. The very mega-corporations and mega-billionaires behind the globalization of the world economy over recent decades, whose pursuit of shareholder value and cost reduction who have wreaked so much damage to our environment both in the industrial world and in the under-developed economies of Africa, Asia, Latin America, are the leading backers of the “grass roots” decarbonization movement from Sweden to Germany to the USA and beyond. Is it pangs of guilty conscience, or could it be a deeper agenda of the financialization of the very air we breathe and more?

Whatever one may believe about the dangers of CO2 and risks of global warming creating a global catastrophe of 1.5 to 2 degree Celsius average temperature rise in the next roughly 12 years, it is worth noting who is promoting the current flood of propaganda and climate activism.

Green Finance

Several years before Al Gore and others decided to use a young Swedish school girl to be the poster child for climate action urgency, or in the USA the call of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for a complete reorganization of the economy around a Green New Deal, the giants of finance began devising schemes for steering hundreds of billions of future funds to investments in often worthless “climate” companies.

In 2013 after years of careful preparation, a Swedish real estate company, Vasakronan, issued the first corporate “Green Bond.” They were followed by others including Apple, SNCF and the major French bank Credit Agricole. In November 2013 Elon Musk’s problem-riddled Tesla Energy issued the first solar asset-backed security. Today according to something called the Climate Bonds Initiative, more than $500 billion in such Green Bonds are outstanding. The creators of the bond idea state their aim is to win over a major share of the $45 trillion of assets under management globally which have made nominal commitment to invest in “climate friendly” projects.

Bonnie Prince Charles, future UK Monarch, along with the Bank of England and City of London finance have promoted “green financial instruments,” led by Green Bonds, to redirect pension plans and mutual funds towards green projects. A key player in the linking of world financial institutions with the Green Agenda is outgoing Bank of England head Mark Carney. In December 2015, the Bank for International Settlements’ Financial Stability Board (FSB), chaired then by Carney, created the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD), to advise “investors, lenders and insurance about climate related risks.” That was certainly a bizarre focus for world central bankers.

In 2016 the TCFD along with the City of London Corporation and the UK Government initiated the Green Finance Initiative, aiming to channel trillions of dollars to “green” investments. The central bankers of the FSB nominated 31 people to form the TCFD. Chaired by billionaire Michael Bloomberg of the financial wire, it includes key people from JP MorganChase; from BlackRock–one of the world’s biggest asset managers with almost $7 trillion; Barclays Bank; HSBC, the London-Hong Kong bank repeatedly fined for laundering drug and other black funds; Swiss Re, the world’s second largest reinsurance; China’s ICBC bank; Tata Steel, ENI oil, Dow Chemical, mining giant BHP Billington and David Blood of Al Gore’s Generation Investment LLC. In effect it seems the foxes are writing the rules for the new Green Hen House.

Bank of England’s Carney was also a key actor in efforts to make the City of London into the financial center of global Green Finance. The outgoing UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, in July 2019 released a White Paper, “Green Finance Strategy: Transforming Finance for a Greener Future.” The paper states, “One of the most influential initiatives to emerge is the Financial Stability Board’s private sector Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), supported by Mark Carney and chaired by Michael Bloomberg. This has been endorsed by institutions representing $118 trillion of assets globally.” There seems to be a plan here. The plan is the financialization of the entire world economy using fear of an end of world scenario to reach arbitrary aims such as “net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.”

Goldman Sachs Key Actor

The omnipresent Wall Street bank, Goldman Sachs, which spawned among others ECB outgoing President Mario Draghi and Bank of England head Carney, has just unveiled the first global index of top-ranking environmental stocks, done along with the London-based CDP, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project. The CDP, notably, is financed by investors such as HSBC, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, American International Group, and State Street Corp.

The new index, called CDP Environment EW and CDP Eurozone EW, aims to lure investment funds, state pension systems such as the CalPERS (the California Public Employees’ Retirement System) and CalSTRS (the California State Teachers’ Retirement System) with a combined $600+ billion in assets, to invest in their carefully chosen targets. Top rated companies in the index include Alphabet which owns Google, Microsoft, ING Group, Diageo, Philips, Danone and, conveniently, Goldman Sachs.

Enter Greta, AOC and Co.

At this point events take on a cynical turn as we are confronted with wildly popular, heavily promoted climate activists such as Sweden’s Greta Thunberg or New York’s 29-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the Green New Deal. However sincere these activists may be, there is a well-oiled financial machine behind promoting them for gain.

Greta Thunberg is part of a well-connected network tied to the organization of Al Gore who is being cynically and professionally marketed and used by such agencies as the UN, the EU Commission and the financial interests behind the present climate agenda. As Canadian researcher and climate activist, Cory Morningstar, documents in an excellent series of posts, young Greta is working with a well-knit network that is tied to US climate investor and enormously wealthy climate profiteer, Al Gore, chairman of Generation Investment group. Gore’s partner, ex-Goldman Sachs official David Blood as noted earlier, is a member of the BIS-created TCFD. Greta Thunberg along with her 17-year-old US climate friend, Jamie Margolin, were both listed as “special youth advisor and trustee” of the Swedish We Don’t Have Time NGO, founded by its CEO Ingmar Rentzhog. Rentzhog is a member of Al Gore’s Climate Reality Organization Leaders, and part of the European Climate Policy Task Force. He was trained in March 2017 by Al Gore in Denver, and again in June 2018, in Berlin. Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project is a partner of We Don’t Have Time.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), who made a huge splash in her first days in the US Congress for unveiling a “Green New Deal” to completely reorganize the US economy at a cost of perhaps $100 trillion, is also not without skilled guidance. AOC has openly admitted that she ran for Congress at the urging of a group called Justice Democrats. She told one interviewer, “I wouldn’t be running if it wasn’t for the support of Justice Democrats and Brand New Congress. Umm, in fact it was it was these organizations, it was JD and it was Brand New Congress as well, that both, that asked me to run in the first place. They’re the ones that called me a year and a half ago…” Now, as Congresswoman, AOC’s advisers include Justice Democrats co-founder, Zack Exley. Exley was an Open Society Fellow and got funds from among others the Open Society Foundations and Ford Foundation to create a predecessor to Justice Democrats to recruit select candidates for office.

The Real Agenda is Economic

The links between the world’s largest financial groups, central banks and global corporations to the current push for a radical climate strategy to abandon the fossil fuel economy in favor of a vague, unexplained Green economy, it seems, is less about genuine concern to make our planet a clean and healthy environment to live. Rather it is an agenda, intimately tied to the UN Agenda 2030 for “sustainable” economy, and to developing literally trillions of dollars in new wealth for the global banks and financial giants who constitute the real powers that be.

In February 2019 following a speech to the EU Commission in Brussels by Greta Thunberg, then-EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, after gallantly kissing Greta’s hand, appeared to be moved to real action. He told Greta and the press that the EU should spend hundreds of billions of euros combating climate change during the next 10 years. Juncker proposed that between 2021 to 2027, “every fourth euro spent within the EU budget go toward action to mitigate climate change.” What the sly Juncker did not say was that the decision had nothing to do with the young Swedish activist’s plea. It had been made in conjunction with the World Bank a full year before in September 26, 2018 at the One Planet Summit, along with the World Bank, Bloomberg Foundations, the World Economic Forum and others. Juncker had cleverly used the media attention given the young Swede to promote his climate agenda.

On October 17, 2018, days following the EU agreement at the One Planet Summit, Juncker’s EU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Breakthrough Energy-Europe in which member corporations of Breakthrough Energy-Europe will have preferential access to any funding.

The members of Breakthrough Energy include Virgin Air’s Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Alibaba’s Jack Ma, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, HRH Prince Al-waleed bin Talal, Bridgewater Associates’ Ray Dalio; Julian Robertson of hedge fund giant, Tiger Management; David Rubenstein, founder Carlyle Group; George Soros, Chairman Soros Fund Management LLC; Masayoshi Son, founder Softbank, Japan.

Make no mistake. When the most influential multinational corporations, the world’s largest institutional investors including BlackRock and Goldman Sachs, the UN, the World Bank, the Bank of England and other central banks of the BIS line up behind the financing of a so-called green Agenda, call it Green New Deal or what, it is time to look behind the surface of public climate activist campaigns to the actual agenda. The picture that emerges is the attempted financial reorganization of the world economy using climate, something the sun and its energy have orders of magnitude more to do with than mankind ever could—to try to convince us ordinary folk to make untold sacrifice to “save our planet.”

Back in 2010 the head of Working Group 3 of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Dr Otmar Edenhofer, told an interviewer, “…one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole.” Since then the economic policy strategy has become far more developed.

Greta Thunberg and Big-Biz' Climate Charade

September 28, 2019 (Tony Cartalucci - NEO) - A 16 year old girl is obviously not behind a "global movement" demanding "climate action" from governments.

The massive corporate Western media is. And anything the corporate media is behind certainly cannot be described as "grassroots."

It is the Western media's daily promotion of this 16 year old that has created "her" movement for her.

Her family background of entertainers and performers is particularly interesting in this regard - Greta Thunberg being the daughter of entertainer Malena Ernman and actor Svante Thunberg, and granddaughter of actor Olof Thunberg. She is the perfect candidate surrounded by the perfect coaches to become a central figure in an exercise of corporate public relations.

Also behind the growing momentum of this "climate action" movement is a myriad of corporate-foundations - notorious for their support of regime change around the globe, the protection and promotion of corporate-financier special interests, and the co-opting of legitimate causes ranging from human rights to now concerns over our collective impact on the environment.

Just like the "war on terror" was a fraudulent campaign aimed at very real terrorists - Greta Thunberg's "Fridays for Future" climate movement is a fraudulent campaign aimed at the very real environmental damage being done around us.

And just like the "war on terror" where the US was caught in fact arming and funding the very terrorists they were supposed to be fighting - all as a pretext to advance otherwise indefensible wars of aggression, "Fridays for Future" is supported by and being advanced for the very worst environmental offenders on Earth to advance an agenda that allows for otherwise indefensible and unpopular policies - many of which will be easily delayed or redirected in the West while forced on developing nations.

"Climate action" forced on the developing world is aimed at crippling progress and granting the West a reprieve from its otherwise irreversible economic, political, and military decline upon the global stage and its ability to coerce and exploit these nations, their people, and their resources.

What is "Fridays for Future?"

Following the money is particularly easy in unravelling "Fridays for Future." The "movement's" own website - www.fridaysforfuture.org - under "About" contains a list of websites that make up the "movement's" network.

Each page listed contains the School Strike 4 Climate (SS4C) logo. They also contain links to various supporters and affiliates. The Canadian page - for example - has a "Promo Toolkit" page full of resources provided by corporate foundations.

One foundation in particular that turns up repeatedly is 350.org.

350.org has published the "Climate Resistance Handbook" which includes a "foreword" by Greta Thunberg herself.

The handbook itself lists zero relevant concerns or actions regarding actual environmental issues and instead is a rehash of familiar CIA-honed tactics used by the US for its so-called "color revolutions" around the globe.

The handbook even cites the US overthrow of Serbia and Ukraine as examples for environmental activists to follow.

Regarding Serbia, the handbook would claim:
A group of young people in Serbia nonviolently fought their powerful, ruthless dictator in Serbia. Tey required every person who joined their movement to learn the upside-down triangle. They led trainings to explain the concept and their plan to remove the pillars they saw.
This approach was a key ingredient to their movement. And they were successful in overthrowing the brutal Serbian dictator.
In reality, the US itself would eventually reveal no such tactics worked and instead it was the millions of dollars the US government funneled into Serbia to back a covert coup that eventually overthrew the Serbian government.

This coup was not to stop a "brutal dictator," but rather to fold Serbia, its people, and resources into America's eastward expansion toward Russian borders.

The New York Times in its article, "Who Really Brought Down Milosevic?," would admit:
Backed by extensive financing from the United States, Otpor steadily coaxed them from the inertia and introspective desperation of the 1990's, when the most decisive act of the best and the brightest was emigration or draft evasion. Through marches and mockery, physical courage and mental agility, Otpor grew into the mass underground movement that stood at the disciplined core of the hidden revolution that really changed Serbia. No other opposition force was as unsettling to the regime or as critical to its overthrow.
The New York Times would also admit details of the extent of US financing:
American assistance to Otpor and the 18 parties that ultimately ousted Milosevic is still a highly sensitive subject. But Paul B. McCarthy, an official with the Washington-based National Endowment for Democracy, is ready to divulge some details.
The article continues:
...McCarthy says, "from August 1999 the dollars started to flow to Otpor pretty significantly." Of the almost $3 million spent by his group in Serbia since September 1998, he says, "Otpor was certainly the largest recipient." The money went into Otpor accounts outside Serbia.
Not only were the "young people of Serbia" successful only because of dubious, secretive US funding, they were successful and their "efforts" lauded by the Western media only because their efforts ultimately served US special interests.

Serbia is no more "free" or "democratic" today than it was under Milosevic. The only real change has been efforts to draw the broken nation westward into Washington and NATO's orbit and away from its traditional ties to Russia. In essence, the youths of Serbia were drawn in as unwitting participants in expanding American hegemony, not promoting "democracy."

In many ways then - 350.org picked the perfect example to help illustrate just exactly what "Fridays for Future" is really about - a cynical public relations exercise obviously funded and directed by Western special interests using "youths" and a well-meaning agenda as cover.

Instead of specifically and explicitly targeting the worst environmental offenders on Earth - corporations like Monsanto, Bayer, DuPont, and Syngenta spraying our food and environment with poison, or Exxon, BP, and Shell for their attempts to perpetuate petrol-driven energy, or labor unions like America's United Automobile Workers which is part of a concerted effort to sabotage electric vehicle manufacturers like Telsa - "Fridays for Future" is allied with them in making ambiguous demands and giving naive youths the illusion that something is being done.

Worst still is the likelihood that this movement will actually result in much of the burden for these corporations' offenses against the environment and human health being shifted onto the public in the form of new taxes and regulations.

Who Funds 350.org?

Since 350.org has written the handbook "Fridays for Future" is following, it would be useful to know who exactly is behind 350.org itself and thus the agenda and movement it is promoting.

The organization lists around 200 different private and corporate foundations funding its activities.

This includes notorious actors like CREDO - a for-profit telecom corporation that uses the cover of activism to build up a loyal - if not fanatical - customer base. It also includes the big-pharma linked Burroughs Wellcome Fund.

The KR Foundation both directly funds 350.org and also funds other foundations listed on 350.org's donor list including the New Venture Fund and the European Climate Foundation.

The Oak Foundation also not only directly funds 350.org - it too funds many other donors appearing on 350.org's list including the Climate Works Foundation and the European Climate Foundation.

The Oak Foundation is deeply involved in virtually every aspect of US "soft power," sponsoring organizations involved in US-funded "color revolutions" as well as fronts posing as human rights advocates like Amnesty International whose role is to fabricate human rights offenses to justify US wars of aggression in which very real human rights abuses thus unfold.

Alongside The Oak Foundation is George Soros and his Open Society Foundation as well as the US government's own National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and its various subsidiaries and affiliates.

On "Fridays for Future's" official website Amnesty International is openly listed as one of several organizations assisting the movement with legal matters. The Open Society-linked Tides Foundation also appears on 350.org's list of donors.

NED-linked "labor unions" - the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) - are also heavily involved in the "Fridays for Future" movement. Labor unions in other countries like Australia openly admit they are involved in organizing the actual protests themselves.

Older stories from Democracy Now! like, "Unholy Alliance? The AFL-CIO and the National Endowment for Democracy in Venezuela," illustrate the ties between the NED and AFL-CIO and their role in promoting US foreign policy. The NED has since deleted links from its webpage documenting its direct funding for the AFL-CIO and its activities worldwide.

The Sierra Club is also listed as one of 350.org's donors. It receives funding not only from dubious off-shore accounts - it has also literally taken money from big-oil.

Time would report in a 2012 article on just one instance of the Sierra Club's big-oil sponsorships that:
TIME has learned that between 2007 and 2010 the Sierra Club accepted over $25 million in donations from the gas industry, mostly from Aubrey McClendon, CEO of Chesapeake Energy—one of the biggest gas drilling companies in the U.S. and a firm heavily involved in fracking—to help fund the Club’s Beyond Coal campaign.
While Time claims the Sierra Club "stopped" taking this money - it was only because the information became public - not because of any fundamental issue against taking big-oil money or working on behalf of big-oil's agenda.

What is also revealed by the 2012 article is that the Sierra Club promoted an "anti-coal" agenda - not on behalf of the environment - but on behalf of the shale gas industry.

"Fridays for Future" - a movement ultimately sponsored and directed by these very same collection of interests and organizations - has no intention of helping the environment - but rather helping the special interests that created the movement under the cover of promoting "environmentalism."

Good Intentions Aren't Enough

The youths joining these movements undoubtedly have the right intentions at heart - but the movement itself is marketed toward youths specifically because they lack the experience and discernment needed to understand the difference between how government "works" in their school books and how it actually works when money and special interests are involved.

Greta Thunberg and "her" movement - should they in any way acutally threaten the special interests that still dominate Western society - would be marginalized, censored, smeared, and attacked across the media. At their protest venues - they would be tear-gassed, beaten, and chased off the streets. And any tangible "action" that threatened to undermine big-business they advocated for would be promptly outlawed.

The fact that those responsible for repressing actual change in the West are eagerly aiding and abetting Greta Thunberg and "Fridays for Future" should tell the average onlooker all they need to know about the legitimacy and agency of these protests even without looking into the financials and ties of organizations openly sponsoring, promoting, and even directing the movement.

But the financials and ties are undeniable and quite familiar evidence that closes the case on "Fridays for Future."

The Environment Needs Real Help

Human civilization - without doubt - is negatively impacting the environment.

Big-agriculture poisons our land and water with chemicals and genetic contamination. Big-oil chokes our air. Big-defense litters battlefields with depleted uranium constituting a modern-day equivalent of plowing the earth with salt. Plastic packaging necessary for "globalized" consumerism fills our land and seas.

Even if one does not believe in mainstream notions of "climate change," petroleum-based transportation has a direct and undeniable impact on human health that must be reduced if not entirely eliminated. The wealth and power consolidated by big-energy is also a major social problem that needs to be confronted.

If Greta Thunberg and her Fridays for Future activists wanted to "save the Earth," they would be gathering outside the headquarters of the corporations responsible for these offenses - not protesting outside the offices of the politicians they own.

When "Fridays for Future" begins advocating boycotts of big-box stores and their oil-dependent, global-spanning supply chains in favor of local industry and business - when they protest genetically modified organisms and big-ag food in favor of locally produced organic produce, and when they begin advocating and investing in alternative energy rather than demanding the government do it for them - they will finally be on the road with a growing number of very real activists already working to truly save the environment.

They will also realize that these real activists - toiling for years - have never been known to them because the cameras and studios eagerly promoting "Fridays for Future" and their anemic, co-opted "activism" have already long ago worked hard to marginalize, censor, smear, and attack these genuine activists.

Genuine activism - like promoting and investing in local manufacturing and agriculture - has already been targeted by legislation to outlaw it or at the very least - seriously complicate it to the point of being impractical to pursue.

This is how one can tell the difference between genuine activism and co-opted or even manufactured activism - by seeing where the corporate media's camera's are pointed and who corporate special interests through their faux philanthropic fronts are promoting.

The environment is indeed facing an emergency - not only because of the real damage human civilization is doing to it - but also because of who the public has put their faith in to fix it.

And finally - if the environment is in such dire straits why is the world entrusting it to a 16 year old and a movement allegedly comprised of children?

Children are being enlisted because they are the only demographic left that are still capable of putting their faith into fronts like the Sierra Club, Amnesty International, The Tides Foundation, The Oak Foundation, and many other instruments of Western corporate-financier power long since exposed, distrusted, and disdained by the rest of the global public.

Greta Thunberg's story isn't one of inspiration and activism - it is one of child exploitation, one of manipulating public perception, and one of re-entrenched special interests desperately seeking an audience - any audience - still gullible enough to believe in and help reconstruct the facades used to cover up their otherwise transparent and self-serving agenda.

The environment needs to be saved, but not by big-business' "Fridays for Future" charade.

"Climate March" Hides Real Culprits and Real Solutions

Climate march is silly at best - dangerously counterproductive at worst.

September 21, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci - LocalOrg) - Big business and the big political parties and politicians they own have converged in what is being disingenuously called the "People's Climate March."  MSNBC would report in an article titled, "The largest climate march in history kicks off in New York," that:

They’re calling it the largest mobilization against climate change in the history of the planet. On Sunday morning, protesters from all over the United States and the world are converging on Manhattan to demand that global leaders take action to avert catastrophic climate change. Earlier this week Bill McKibben, founder of the environmental group 350.org, projected that the march would consist of “hundreds of thousands” of participants.
Not surprisingly little in terms of actual solutions are mentioned by the organizers and instead the march is meant to set the stage for political and financial deals to be made at the 2015 Climate Change Conference in Paris, France. Organizing the march are institutions funded by the very governments and corporate-financier special interests that have helped create devastating environmental and socioeconomic disasters across the planet over the past several decades in the first place.

Also involved are profiteers who have taken advantage of the general population's genuine concern for the environment to propose and benefit from scams consisting of everything from land-grabbing thousands of acres in Africa to peddling "carbon credits" and other financial gimmicks that make immense profits from doing literally nothing at all in terms of production and by creating a false sense of security, may even be compounding environmental catastrophes.

For those drawn to such "marches" and who are dismayed or disillusioned by the disingenuous nature of those trying to hijack their good intentions to peddle self-serving political and financial gimmicks, what can they do to develop and actually make good on the vague promises being made during this year's "People's Climate March?"

The Climate Always Changes - We Must Always Be Prepared

The climate is always changing, and nearly everything human beings and nature do, both on Earth and beyond it, has an impact on it. A changing climate, like earthquakes and volcanoes driven by the constantly changing geological state of our planet, or diseases that sweep animal and human populations amid a perpetual biological arms race, will be a challenge humanity will always have to face.

Of course, human activity has an impact on the climate. The construction of our cities creates microclimates, emissions change the constitution of our atmosphere - regardless of how much or little - contributing to a much greater array of natural and anthropocentric variables that collectively drive and change the planet's climate, among other things.

Image: Late Cretaceous period saw CO2 levels many times higher than they are today, with higher sea levels and Antarctica covered in temperate forests and teaming with dinosaurs. The climate has shifted radically long before humanity rose, and will continue to change regardless of what we do. We can prepare for it, minimize our impact on it, but we cannot stop it.

Additionally, there is no way to predict with certainty, nor manipulate reliably the climate - at least not with the technology we currently possess - and surely not with the political solutions pushed forward by the very corporate-financier special interests staging stunts like the "People's Climate March."

While reducing humanity's impact on the planet should be one of many goals we collectively pursue, even if we managed to reduce our impact to zero, the climate would still change, and would still change for both the better and for the worse of the ecosystems that inhabit this planet. Evolutionary, astronomical, and geological processes have all contributed to massive extinction events. Humanity must understand that the only way to truly protect this planet is not to "stop climate change," which is impossible, but rather hedge and protect against it  through innovations that can weather climatic changes no matter what they may be or what may be driving them.

In many ways, agriculture itself is an expression of this. So is exploration and architecture. Continuing along the road of these evolving disciplines will give us the tools we need to always be prepared no matter what the climate throws at us.

Reducing Humanity's Impact on the Environment

Reducing humanity's impact is a topic that in fact does get brought up by the ringleaders of the climate change movement. However, their vision of the future is one where the population lives in utter austerity under a planetary regime but a handful control. Left unscathed are the corporate-financier special interests that will create this planetary regime that, not surprisingly, will also bestow upon these special interests, unprecedented power, wealth, and influence. And despite the austerity they have planned for the masses, none of their measures seem to address what will happen if the climate continues to change - as it has for millions upon millions of years before humans walked the Earth.

There is an alternative solution that is often never mentioned - one that doesn't hamstring human progress or demand resource rationing, or the curtailment of energy use or food consumption. It is not political in nature and does not involve one group of people dictating the lives and allowances of others.

It is never mentioned because it would be a direct, coordinated, global decentralization of the big-business monopolies and their socioeconomic and environmentally disastrous supply-chains, factory farms, sweat-shops, and the iron grip they possess over so-called "intellectual property" and research and development in all fields from energy production to biotechnology to medicine and mass transportation.

Local Development

Local development of, by, and for the people, leveraging technology, open source collaboration, and focusing on pragmatic, technical solutions to our problems, including reducing our impact on the environment and hedging against natural disasters whatever their cause, is indeed the solution.

Consider the journey made by a plastic trinket found on the shelf of Walmart. It began in a sweatshop literally on the other side of the planet, hammered, pressed, painted, packed, and shipped off by people working under slave-like conditions using unhealthy chemicals and processes that would be unacceptable in the West.

The trinkets are driven by trucks to docks where they are placed upon ships that traverse the Earth's oceans burning tons of diesel fuel, releasing scorching clouds of fumes behind them as they churn up the sea and all life within it. The trinkets arrive on Western shores where they are moved by trucks, vans, or planes from the docks, to distribution centers, to the mega-retail outlet it is finally destined for.

To pick up your trinket, you must drive your car to Walmart, walk beneath hundreds of lights burning sometimes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week over its warehouse-sized consumerist troughs, purchase the trinket, and drive back home.

Consider an alternative - a 3D printer on your desk. Open source designs can be downloaded and shared over the Internet with anyone in the world. Projects can be coordinated between designers and hobbyists anywhere on the planet. When you have obtained or designed the trinket of your choice, you print it out directly on your desktop. There is no car drive, no ships, no trucks, no burning lights over shelf after shelf in a mega-retail outlet. You print exactly what you want, exactly how many you want, without the waste associated with consumerist-driven assembly lines and mass production.

Even the plastic fed into 3D printers can be derived from plant oils grown locally. Plastic and other materials can also be recycled locally. Gone are the sweat shops, truck convoys, merchant fleets, and all the unwarranted power and influence their existence grants the handful of special interests they serve.

The innovations in manufacturing technology that are placing the means of production literally into the hands of the masses will be followed by similar breakthroughs and paradigm shifts in biotechnology, agriculture, and medical technology. Communities are already developing what could be called local collaborative institutions where technology is leveraged to solve the problems and desires of their residents. And while they are "local," they are by no means isolated. They are connected globally to similar local institutions cropping up across the planet by information technology. Innovations will progress in parallel rather than in secret within the profiteering grip of traditional corporations, governments, and global institutions.

It will be these local institutions that pragmatically put an end to the waste, fraud, and abuse of immense corporate-financier interests and the negative socioeconomic and environmental impact they are demonstrably causing.

Personal manufacturing like 3D printing would do (and is already doing) more alone to undo harmful consumerist practices, faster, and in parallel than any top-down political solution cooked up at the Climate Change Conference in Paris could dream of doing.

What You Should Be Doing Instead of "Marching"

Instead of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the very special interests that have created the current global system devouring our planet, activists genuinely concerned with human progress and the health and longevity of our planet's environment should be shoulder-to-shoulder with local innovators seeking to solve local problems and in parallel with other innovators globally. Local hackerspaces or makerspaces, fabrication laboratories (FabLabs), DIYbio community labs, and other collaborative projects are providing the tools and resources needed to solve problems without the "help" of the very troublemakers that created them in the first place - big business and big government.

Image: Building solutions themselves, rather than begging corporations and
governments to do it for them - local institutions like hackerspaces and
makerspaces set new precedents in how we organize ourselves to work and
solve problems.
After all, it is local people who understand best the challenges they face socioeconomically and environmentally. They understand the quality of their food, water, and air and what needs to be done to clean it up - not those attending the Climate Change Conference in Paris. And it is local people who will be motivated above all others to truly solve these problems as efficiently and as quickly as possible.

And if we decide not to act locally, and instead defer to politicians to "save us," we can expect the same tricks and unfulfilled promises politicians make in every other regard. People who are willing to march in the streets, but not dirty their hands to come up with actual solutions to these problems are not genuine in their cause. Others who are willing to get their hands dirty should be spending their time exclusively doing so, rather than encouraging hot air from politicians and their self-enriching gimmicks that will cost us, not aid us in moving humanity forward with our best interests and the planet's health in mind.

Why Everyone is Wrong about Climate Change

July 1, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci - LocalOrg) - Assigning blame for climate change that will happen with or without human activity on Earth constitutes a disingenuous discourse. The climate changes, and nearly everything on Earth and beyond it effects that change. From geological processes to biological evolution, to changes in the sun's output, to yes, even human activity - absolutely everything has an impact on the climate for better or for worse.

Image: Climate change, and even exceptional global warming is nothing new. Even if humans managed to negate any impact they were having on the environment, ice ages, rising seas, and off-the-chart CO2 levels and temperatures are inevitable. All we can do is build civilizations and sanctuaries that can weather the climate, no matter what it does.

The climate has been in a constant, linear state of change, long before human beings evolved, and even throughout the relatively short period of time humans have inhabited the Earth. This continuous change may have within it temporary cycles, but at no two points in Earth's natural history has the climate been the same.

Image: Global warming in Antarctica, 65 millions years BC.
65 million years ago, there were no ice caps. CO2 and temperatures were much higher than they are today, and Antarctica was covered with thriving temperate forests inhabited by dinosaurs. In an opposite and more recent extreme, our ancient ancestors struggled through a global ice age. Today, we live on a planet much warmer than inhabited by our cave-dwelling ancestors, but much cooler than anything the dinosaurs experienced.

Climate change happened, and is happening now. And even with the complete negating of all human activity on Earth, it will continue to change. This does not absolve humanity from addressing its impact on the environment. Quite the contrary. However it gives us a crucial imperative currently being ignored by policy makers and activists alike.

All the carbon credits, electric cars, and solar panels in the world will do nothing to prevent potentially hazardous climate change, natural or man-made. Tinkering with the climate through "geoengineering" could result in a catastrophic extinction-event unlike anything experienced in natural history. While human activity negatively impacting the climate should be addressed, measures must be taken to confront climate change that will come no matter what we do within the current false discourse now taking place.

What's Suggested and Why it Won't Work

At the very center of this false discourse lies the most ridiculous of all suggestions, "carbon credits." It is the modern equivalent of trying to clean New York City's 19th century streets of horse manure by taxing it. Horse manure disappeared from New York's streets when the car was invented. To eliminate the negative health, sociopolitical, and environmental impact of petroleum fueled cars, yet another novel innovation must be invented. Electric cars charged with renewable sources of energy would be a good start. The move to a hydrogen-based economy may be another worthwhile pursuit. To eliminate CO2 and other emissions from power plants and factories, likewise, innovations must be made.

And while these measures are welcomed, even with clean cars and renewable clean energy, climate change driven by other forces, both on Earth and beyond, and many of which are beyond our means to change or safely manipulate, will still continue. Carbon credits is an outright scam. Alternative forms of transportation and energy production are absolute necessities but will not stop natural climate change. But within the current false discourse, even these crucial necessities are not being approached with any serious focus, with schemes like carbon credits, progress-stunting resource rationing, and neo-eugenic population control taking center stage.

What Needs to Be Done

Mitigating the impact of human activity on the planet, not only in terms of atmospheric conditions and composition, but in all terms including polluting our water and soil, and corrupting the genomes of plant and animal species through the proliferation of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), must be addressed not politically but pragmatically. If governments cannot think of a particular technical solution to address each and every way modern society negatively impacts the environment, it should be investing in scientific, technological, and design-oriented education to produce a population of problem solvers that can devise appropriate and pragmatic solutions themselves.

It was the industrial revolution and a population capable of creating, inventing, and innovating during the 19th and 20th century that created solutions to the many health and environmental hazards that existed at the time. Of course, new hazards were created in the process. Why now do people believe that anything other than continued innovation can be used to solve these new problems? Technological progress and investment in all that drives it, should be the top priority of anyone genuinely concerned about climate change.

Image: Future agriculture taking place within an enclosed, protected, and
optimized environment allows food production to continue no matter what
the climate outside is doing.
However, even with our impact on the environment completely negated through technological innovation, climate change will continue regardless - just as it had long before humanity came into being.

For humanity and the species it coinhabits the Earth with to survive inevitable climate change, we must build infrastructure and economies that are independent and immune from the climate no matter what it does. Our cities, farms, homes, businesses, and even sanctuaries for ecosystems we seek to preserve must be designed and engineered to take whatever is going on outside, and make it work with what we need to survive and thrive on the inside.

Urban and rural agriculture that takes place within self-contained systems that can conserve and reuse resources, including water and soil nutrients, as well as control atmospheric conditions for optimal growing environments - immense high-tech greenhouses in other words - could protect our crops from global heating or cooling. Architecture that is modular, flexible, mobile, and adaptable could adjust to sea levels, filling in space where land is exposed, or moved to higher grounds when land disappears. Cities and agricultural systems that float upon the sea would make rising and falling sea levels more or less irrelevant.
Image: The ultimate expression of environmental mastery is constructing
ecosystems and civilizations where they naturally could not exist.
Humanity has already permanently inhabited orbit in the form of the
International Space Station for over a decade, we must simply take the
next step.
And perhaps the ultimate expression of environmental mastery would be creating habitable ecosystems where none could ever exist naturally - beneath the waves, underground, or even in orbit above Earth. Environmental mastery of this level should be the ultimate goal of governments, organizations, and activists around the world who seek to preserve both our ecosystems and our civilization.

Such a future is the realm of science fiction, but a future that does not look upward and outward, is not a future worth striving toward.

In the interim, there are already people experimenting and moving forward alternative models of decentralized high-tech agricultural, energy, and architectural solutions that will make weathering climate change more manageable. Perhaps the decentralized but collaborative nature technological progress is taking through local hackerspaces, urban agriculture, and cooperatives could create solutions far quicker and without the political baggage and meddling special interests impeding progress on national and international scales.

For those frustrated by the lack of pragmatic solutions for issues such a climate change, genetic pollution, or the poisoning of our air, water, and soil, starting projects at your local hackerspace to create or improve technology to protect your food supply, energy, water, and air could be the beginning of a real environmental movement that actually solves problems rather than perpetually complain and argue about them.

Geoengineering and the "Moonraker Scenario"

The other option is one of anti-human regression - where faux-environmentalists who harbor misanthropic hatred for humanity demand all progress stop, energy production be reduced, and instead of finding better alternatives to do more with less, demand that all do as little as possible with as little as possible. Such a mentality is at best putting human progress into "sleep mode." At worst, it threatens our very survival, which has since the dawn of history itself, depended on exploration, innovation, and the ability to conquer adversity rather than surrender to it.

Those like White House science adviser, John P. Holdren who suggests the planet be scoured of its populous human inhabitants, now toys with the idea of geoengineering, or extreme global climate manipulation. The likelihood that people like Holdren seek to do so for the continued progress of humanity, rather than to fulfill long desired "depopulation" is slim to none. The chances that people like Holdren seek to "accidentally" plunge the planet into conditions that devastate agriculture and starve hundreds of millions, or even billions to death, are somewhat greater.

This would be the "Moonraker scenario" - referencing the 1979 James Bond movie Moonraker. In the film, a deranged industrialist conspires to wipe out humanity and in the ruins repopulate it with what he perceives to be a "master race." While a science fiction thriller, the movie reflects the darkest desires of tyrants throughout the ages - to erase what exists and build an empire of their own designs in its place. As human nature itself does not change, neither have the aspects of human nature that drive such dark desires. From the intentional and reckless genetic pollution perpetrated by huge agricultural and biotech monopolies through the proliferation of GMOs, to attempts to surveil, control, and even manipulate public perception, to the sabotaged false discourse regarding climate change itself and the consideration of geoengineering - it appears attempts to overwrite the planet's climate, population, and culture is already underway, either by design or self-destructive ignorance.

By exiting the false discourse on climate change - and other false discourses - and demanding and participating in pragmatic, technological progress, we can protect ourselves as much from the effects of inevitable natural climate change as we can from the delusions and designs of megalomaniacs. An educated, informed, and technologically literate population has the ability to create a technologically driven future that serves the population's best interests. Anything less leaves us at the mercy of an unpredictable elite that history has already many times warned us about.

Warning: Corporate Lobbyist At Work

How big money distorts reality by dominating both sides of every debate.
by Tony Cartalucci

May 5, 2012 - Like a tentacle of a sea monster breaking the surface of the water, a recent news story starring a "libertarian" think-tank's billboard comparing "climate change" proponents to Theodore Kaczynski (also known as the Unabomber) represents but a small part of a much larger beast.

Image: While in reality those behind "climate change" hysteria dwarf the threat of Kaczynski, the Heartland Institute is funded by corporations backing just such people. What we are left with is a false paradigm where both sides are controlled by the same corporate-financier interests producing a strategy of tension with which to see through their agenda and prevent real issues and solutions from being realized.
....

Like in any movie script, the billboard put up by the Heartland Institute is designed to play the role of the villain. Heroically riding in to fight this villain is "Think Progress," a so-called "progressive" project maintained by the Center for American Progress. To the average, poorly informed observer, it appears as if an increasingly heated debate over man's impact on the environment is unfolding, framed by a vitriolic "denier" camp reduced to name-calling, with a dignified progressive camp refusing to move from its foundation of "reason" and "science."

In reality we are watching two think-tanks funded, backed, and involved with the very same handful of corporations. Both the Heartland Institute and the Center for American Progress are funded by Wall Street and together they create a false paradigm with which to trap unassuming millions while sidelining real issues, problems, and their solutions.

Think Progress itself exposes the Heartland Institute as funded by major corporations including Amgen, Bayer, Comcast, GlaxoSmithKline, Eli Lilly & Company, Microsoft, PepsiCo, General Motors, Pfizer, and Time Warner Cable. It then berates these corporations for their support for the Heartland Institute in a more recent article of theirs titled, "Heartland Institute Compares Climate Science Believers And Reporters To Mass ‘Murderers And Madmen’." The US Chamber of Commerce is also listed as a contributor to the Heartland Institute in a .pdf provided by Think Progress.

What Think Progress doesn't tell readers is that these very same corporations are recipients of their own John Podesta's lobbying services - because indeed Think Progress and its umbrella organization, the Center for American Progress is chaired by John Podesta, co-founder of the Podesta Group - a notorious corporate lobbying firm involved with some of the most dubious characters and corporations on Earth. Amongst Podesta's clients are the above mentioned Amgen and General Motors, as well as BAE Systems, General Dynamics, General Electric, Raytheon, British Petroleum, Lockheed Martin, and many others.

Video: Meet the founder of the United Nations Foundation, depopulation and climate change enthusiast Ted Turner previously of Time Warner. Turner peddles Malthusian talking-points on national TV attempting to link overpopulation with global warming. And while Turner is no longer with Time Warner, its subsidiary Time Inc is still a corporate partner of the UN Foundation while Time Warner itself is listed as a supporter of the Heartland Institute - guilty of "climate denial." The Fortune 500 is replete with examples of corporations playing both sides of the climate debate.
....

To fully illustrate this false paradigm, it should be mentioned that one of the patrons of the Heartland Institute and their "climate denial" - Time Warner - though its subsidiary Time Inc is also a corporate partner of the United Nations Foundation - a premier promoter of climate change hysteria. Time Warner's Ted Turner created the foundation with a 1 billion dollar donation and is an outspoken "global warming" and "overpopulation" activist. Joining Time Warner in partnering with the UN Foundation is the Bill & Malinda Gates Foundation, also prominent global climate change activists. Bill Gates being founder and a current chairman at Microsoft - is also a sponsor of "climate denial" at the Heartland Institute.

The Podesta Group openly admits that it conducts media campaigns including planting op-eds in popular newspapers including the Christian Science Monitor and the Huffington Post. The Podesta Group features a "PG At Work" segment on each page of its website showcasing such articles, written either by journalists approached by the lobbying firm, or by Podesta Group members themselves, often never disclosing their affiliations. Similarly, Podesta openly admits it "arranges" for Senators to make specific floor speeches. When one wonders the "how" regarding corporate-financier interests purchasing our elected representatives and manipulating our press, the answer is lobbying firms like Podesta. Ensuring the public goes along with such a flagrant abuse of power and influence is left to the creation of false paradigms, false choices, and emotionally charged misdirecting debates.

By the same corporations funding a vicious debate moderated by professional lobbyists in their employ, the corporate-financier elite ensure that the public is herded into a matrix of false choices where both real problems and their solutions are non-issues and instead an endless circular debate mired in infinite minutia is conducted. Regardless of which public opinion prevails regarding anthropogenic global warming, the corporate-financier oligarchs have institutions and legislation in place to capitalize, be it big-oil or carbon-credit trading big-banks.

Not Just Climate Change.

Climate change is not the only issue where both sides of the debate are dominated by the same interests for the purpose of maintaining a false paradigm and an effective strategy of tension. Just recently, another media circus was erected around a Chinese "activist," Chen Guangcheng.

Chen had been built up since at least 2008 by another PR firm of sorts, the US State Department's National Endowment for Democracy and its various subsidiaries including Freedom House, the International Republican Institute (IRI), and the National Democratic Institute (NDI). Like Podesta, NED not only plants op-eds across the corporate-media, but maintains a global network of clearinghouses it funds with US taxpayers' money. One such example, Thailand's Prachatai, is fully funded by NED, USAID, and convicted criminal George Soros' Open Society Institute (also a sponsor of the above mentioned Center for American Progress). On a daily basis, Prachatai regurgitates US State Department talking points, while masquerading as an "independent" media organization.

Together, these fraudulent media clearinghouses with Congressional members of NED, IRI, and NDI, turn a nameless, inconsequential "activist" or a contrived human rights issue into an international point of contention - not for the cause of human rights, but to be used as leverage for geopolitical and financial concessions. In China's case, Chen was used as a PR stunt in the lead up to high-profile talks between Washington and Beijing.

And just like with the climate change issue, indeed, the very injustice Chen Guangcheng was protesting, with US money and support, was a creation of the West itself - namely China's draconian population control policies, funded by the UN with the US the primary donor to its "Population Fund."

The "War on Terror" is yet another false paradigm, both created and perpetuated by the West, while it simultaneously "fights" against it. In fact, many of the most adamant proponents of the "War on Terror" are literally lobbying for the US State Department-listed foreign terror organization (#29) Mujahideen-e-Khalq (MEK) of Iran, while others are calling on the US to fund, arm, and politically recognize listed terror organizations like the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) of Libya, and terrorists currently destabilizing Syria.

Image
: Rudy Giuliani consorting with MEK's political wing leader Maryam Rajavi in Paris, France. Giuliani is best known for his role playing a strong supporter for the "War on Terror" and his incessant fear mongering versus "Islamic extremists." In real life, he coddles listed terrorist organizations in direct violation of US law and even lobbies for them.
  ....

While some may be confused as to why one would simultaneously perpetuate a war while trying to end it, the answer is quite simple - the trillions the US is spending to fight the endless "War on Terror" is not going into a black hole, rather, it is going to a myriad of defense contractors while building the foundation for other large corporate-financier interests to plunder nations previously beyond America's geopolitical and financial reach - the ultimate goal being to turn the entire planet into a borderless playground for the corporate-financier oligarchs of Wall Street and London.

What To Do When Both Sides of the Debate Are Controlled.

When we are trapped within a matrix of false choices, a paradigm created by and for the corporate-financier elite, our only recourse is to escape it. We do this by creating an agenda and program of our own while recognizing, boycotting and replacing the corporate interests that have constructed this paradigm around us in the first place.

Picking sides between the Heartland Institute and Think Progress is indeed an exercise in futility but one the corporate-financiers hope you commit to anyway. And no matter where one stands on the issue of "climate change," they end up supporting the same corporate interests regardless. By deciding for ourselves what issues are truly important and entirely ignoring or exposing as a fraud the false debates put in front of us, we can begin making real progress that is in our collective best interests while undermining the elitist minority that has dominated and manipulated public discourse for so long.

The Church of Malthus

Hating humanity is their creed, corporate-fascists its patriarchs, pseudo-scientists its priest-class, brain-addled cultists its practitioners.
by Tony Cartalucci

Video
: Church of Malthus evangelist, Paul Gilding in his "the Earth is Full" talk, tells us one million years of human progress has "finally" reached its limits. This is a tale that has been fallaciously told for at least the last 200 years since crackpot economist Thomas Malthus warned of imminent societal collapse based on a growing population - a prediction, like those of a suicidal doomsday cult, that has been demonstrably and repeatedly proven wrong. Gilding also attempts to link "climate change" in as a manifestation of our reached limits.
....

April 14, 2012 - Paul Gilding describes himself as an "independent writer, advisor and advocate for action on climate change." He is not a scientist, nor does he appear to participate in any sort of productive industry. He is a modern day Malthusian evangelist - preaching the limits of population growth as hysterically as Thomas Malthus did over 200 years ago, warning of imminent societal collapse. Gilding's contemporaries include John P. Holdren, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, who in 1977 ludicrously concluded that the United States would collapse when its population reached "280 million in 2040."

America's population stands well over 300 million today, and the only collapse it faces is due to a maniacal government attempting to carry out global imperial conquest through trillion dollar decade-spanning wars, and mega-trillion dollar banker bailouts paid to the order of institutionalized degenerate gamblers.

Clearly, whatever "science" men like Gilding and Holdren are basing their system of beliefs on is divorced from the science that gives us technology and progress. It is analytical, theoretical, and compiled by men who have little experiential knowledge of how the world actually functions. They are priests and evangelists perched in ivory towers and behind podiums shouting out their patently false conclusions to the crowds before them. Their resumes are devoid of accomplishments in applied science and technology, and instead filled with ridiculous predictions and "academia" that have humiliatingly and repeatedly been proven false.

Worst of all, their work is carried out on behalf of a "Green Vatican" of sorts - not based in Rome, Italy, but on Wall Street and in the financier capital of London - who in reality are the greatest purveyors of environmental catastrophe. Like many cults and organized religions before them, they shift the burden of reconciling "sin" onto its growing flock of followers instead of taking responsibility for its own actions, resultant from perpetual greed.

For instance, Gilding in his TED Talk, claims that humanity has exceeded Earth's carrying capacity by 1.5 times - a number drawn from the "Global Footprint Network" funded by a myriad of corporate-financier funded foundations, not the least of which is Biotech GMO giant, Syngenta (2010 Annual Report, page 26 of the .pdf). A recent report published by investigative journalist Patrick Henningsen titled "Big Green Oil Money: WWF founded and run by Royal Dutch-Shell," exposes how yet another denomination of the Church of Malthus is indeed funded by Wall Street and London. It should be noted that the WWF is linked directly to the "Global Footprint Network."

Following this pattern is Deutsche Bank, one of the "leading participants" in the carbon credit market, who had erected a monolithic "Carbon Clock" in New York City to add a sense of moral justification, public urgency, and support to their newly devised pyramid scheme. This is not some sort of new culture of "corporate responsibility" but just the latest in a long line of lies told by banking and industrial cartels to market their products and services to an infinitely exploited and purposefully misled population.

The Fallacy of Anthropogenic-Driven Climate Change Explained.

In order to deconstruct the dogma of the Church of Malthus it helps first to understand that the planet Earth is in a constant state of change. Beneath its surface are geological processes that literally turn the planet inside-out over the ages through tectonic shifts and the volcanism that results. When land is thrust up above sea-level resulting in the creation of an island, it in turn shifts weather patterns. Atmospheric moisture that would otherwise carry on until it reached landfall upon the ever shifting major continents of Earth, would instead condense and fall due to new variations in pressure and temperature.

File:Steigungsregen.jpg

Image: Islands and landmasses are formed naturally and continuously through tectonic shifts and in many cases volcanic activity pushing submerged land above sea-level (top). Once above sea-level, increased elevation and variations in pressure and temperature collectively affect local weather patterns (bottom). The constant shifting of Earth's geography in turn perpetually changes global climate.
....

Collectively these geological changes result in new global weather patterns. Weather patterns then directly affect biological adaptation. Species that lived in previously cool regions may adapt significantly to deal with an increase in regional temperatures. Their ecosystem may be so vastly affected in such a short period of time, some species may even go extinct - a process that has been ongoing long before man arrived.

Images
: According to Discovery Magazine, this dinosaur (top left) existed in the "rainforests" of Antarctica, which today is a frozen wasteland (top right). The map (below) shows what the world looked like some 65 million years ago during the Cretaceous period. North America is covered with an inland sea, as is Africa's now arid Sahara Desert. Antarctica is depicted as covered in forests. Climate change is nothing new, nor is the "change" we are experiencing now the most extreme in terms of either temperature or CO2 levels.
....

To illustrate this, we can look at the state of planet Earth in terms of biology, geology, and climatology, approximately 65 million years ago, where the continents we now know today were already taking recognizable shape. CO2 levels were over 10 times what they are now, and sea levels were so high that North America featured an inland sea centered on what is now the LinkMississippi River. Global temperatures were also many times greater than they are today, so much so, that Antarctica despite already shifting to Earth's southern pole, was covered in temperate forests and was home to a thriving dinosaur population.

Collectively, these changes and shifts in biological diversity across the planet's surface then feed back into atmospheric conditions which in turn affect the weather. Since at no point in Earth's history has its geology or biodiversity been the same, it stands to reason that weather driven by these two constantly changing variables would also constantly change. Therefore, the concept of "normality" in Earth's climate is a ridiculous notion. The best one could do is claim that the indefinitely changing weather and biodiversity of the planet is being altered by human activity before proving how weather would have naturally changed and how it is now artificially changing. Since the ideological doctrine of the Church of Malthus is an irrational climate "status quo" it is clear that their conclusions and the "science" used to arrive at them are significantly flawed. As we will later see, real environmental damage is being done by human activity, but by precisely the sponsors of the charlatans pushing "anthropogenic climate change."

: The Sun is a star. All stars have a life-cycle during which it exhibits varying characteristics in both physical size and intensity. Between major stages of a star's life-cycle lie many poorly understood forces that affect a star's intensity during shorter time spans.
....

Another factor conveniently overlooked by the Church of Malthus's priest class, is the role the Sun plays in driving not only Earth's climate, but the climate of extraterrestrial planets such as Mars and the moons of the jovian planets (gas giants), such as Titan of Saturn. The Sun, like all stars, is a fusion reaction that exhibits drastically different characteristics throughout its life-cycle. Additionally, the internal cycles and anomalies that occur within the Sun on a daily basis are just now being examined and understood by stellar astronomers. Variations in the Sun's intensity, however minute, can have wide-ranging affects on planetary climate throughout the entire solar system.

http://geology.rockbandit.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/io-volcano.jpg

Image
: Jupiter's moon Io has volcanism so extreme, eruptions can be observed from space. Io's volcanism, unlike the Earth, is not primarily driven by plate tectonics, but rather the powerful tidal forces warping the moon's geology much the way Earth's moon warps our oceans. The Earth's moon may affect Earth geology in a similar, though more subtle manner adding yet another variable to the incomplete and dubious calculus of men like Gilding and Holdren (or Al Gore for that matter).
....

Additionally, observations of the gravitational effects gas giant Jupiter has on its moons' geology also hold profound implications regarding Earth's geology, and subsequently the climate affected by that geology. Jupiter's pull on it's moons is so great that it literally causes tidal shifts of their mantles in the same way the sea is affected by tidal forces of Earth's moon. These forces are so great, the friction caused by the moons' flexing mantle so extreme, it creates volcanism on a scale that dwarfs any volcanic display seen on Earth.

How the Earth's moon has affected Earth's plate tectonics is also now only beginning to be understood. The moon's distance from Earth is constantly changing, thus its effect on Earth's geology is also in constant flux - and adds yet another variable to the very incomplete calculus used by "environmentalists" and "climatologists" who insist CO2 emissions from human activity are the primary drivers of an otherwise "static climate."

Like priest-classes throughout history, the Church of Malthus abuses the ignorance of the general population regarding the basic forces of nature, oversimplifying planetary climatology that otherwise involves factors including geology, biology, meteorology, Newtonian physics, and stellar astronomy. Not only do they do this in order to sell their version of "indulgences" in the form of ineffectual "carbon credits,"and to assert their control over society in what they themselves call a planetary regime (Ecoscience, pages 942-943, 1977), but they are ignoring naturally driven climate change and the consequences that may indeed jeopardize human civilization. This priest class and their political and monetary "solutions" leaves civilization with no plans or contingencies in the event that the conditions seen during the Cretaceous period revisit us once again.

Climate change is indeed real - it occurs with or without humans, and can drastically change the face of the planet giving rise to great masses of biodiversity or killing off great numbers of species in what are called "mass extinction events." Carbon credits, carbon taxes, forced sterilizations, destroying the family, piling humanity into micro-managed cities, and instituting a "planetary regime" to administer "global governance" will do absolutely nothing to stop climate change, but it is a great way for an elitist oligarchy to exercise megalomanical domination over humanity, as dreamed of by all tyrants since the dawn of human civilization.

The Church of Malthus is Regressive, not Progressive.

Without a doubt - the planet Earth, humanity's sole refuge amongst the vastness of the universe, is being destroyed. It is not being destroyed, as we would be led to believe, by people having children, consuming natural resources, or expelling carbon dioxide (CO2). Instead, it is demonstrably being destroyed by reckless genetic engineering by big-agricultural corporations like Monsanto and Syngenta. It is being demonstrably destroyed by immense, ludicrously centralized supply chains like those of Pepsi and Coca-Cola supplying the world with poisoned sugar water.

Video: Controlling our food: The world according to Monsanto - a wake up call to the world, exposing the nefarious, duplicitous, corrupt, corporate-fascist, and very much deadly agenda of this world-spanning mega-corporation and the GMO Biotech industry in general.
....

It is being destroyed by a military-industrial complex covering its ever-expanding global theater of war with depleted uranium, possessing a half-life of billions of years thus effectively contaminating our environment forever. Mega-industrial conglomerates like General Electric building subpar nuclear power plants on fault-lines, and governments failing to make necessary upgrades on vastly outdated reactors are destroying our environment in ways no number of children or their consumption of resources could ever hope to accomplish.

The Earth is being destroyed by a corporate-driven infrastructure imposed upon us by corporate-fascist governance - in America, giving us inefficient mass transportation decades behind the rest of the world and allowing no other option than to buy a car to get around. It gives us mega-markets that we must travel to in order to fill our cupboards at home, while regulating out of business local industry and even home gardens and industry that could supply us the same products right on our own block - within walking distance.

Big-oil regulates out of business any possible alternative to their global-spanning energy empires while using war to prevent the development of additional reserves by developing nations. The government that serves these corporate interests ensures that our education system produces few minds not indoctrinated and siphoned off to serve this agenda - preventing us from ever changing the course we are currently on.

The coup de grâce of course - is then convincing the global population that the state of our planet is entirely our own fault. In a way this is true, because we fuel these corporations, their proxy governments, their organizations and institutions on a daily basis with our patronage of their goods and services and our daily capitulation to their rules and regulations. However, the Church of Malthus has excelled at creating a humanity-hating congregation that scoffs at the family - the foundation of human civilization since time immemorial, scorns technological and industrial development in the third-world, and wallows in the nihilistic culture growing around this new-aged religion.

The Church of Malthus is in every way regressive. Instead of pursuing innovation and invention to grapple with the challenges that lie before us, it suggests "sustainability," "zero-growth" in both population and industry, and a vast array of political "solutions" that coincidentally leave them incredibly powerful and wealthy.

Only, our prehistoric ancestors when faced with the adversity of starvation and overpopulation didn't resort to political "solutions," such as rationing, quotas, or population control, but instead picked up a stick, sharpened it, and embarked on hunts of animals our physiology was otherwise incapable of bringing down. Innovation not only allowed us to survive, but to flourish. We built better spears, we devised bows and arrows, we developed agricultural technology, and when our populations swelled due to our ability to prevail against natural odds, we explored and settled new climbs and places.

Image: Early man didn't solve his problems with policy, he solved them with innovation, tools (technology), & ingenuity. Instead of rationing food and implementing population control, these men created spears and hunted down otherwise unapproachable prey to feed their ever growing population. When regions became overpopulated, they settled new climbs and places.
....

Innovation and technology has allowed us to create the current society we now live in. Technology has reached a point where it allows individuals and communities to do ever more on their own without the need of bloated central governments and world spanning corporate empires. If left unchecked, governments and corporations will begin to shrink in size and capacity, playing an ever minimizing role in our daily lives.

Video
: Meet a real "progressive," spacecraft designer Burt Rutan who in the first 2 minutes of his TED Talk makes a poignant observation of the human condition, "we stand a very big chance of losing our ability to inspire our youth to go out and continue this very important thing that we as a species have always done, and that is instinctively we've gone out and climbed over difficult places, went to more hostile places, and found out later maybe to our surprise that that's the reason we've survived. "
....

This trend toward technologically facilitated localism translates into an unsavory world order for the ruling global corporate-financier oligarchs, a world order they are fighting ceaselessly to prevent from coming into being. They fight this battle by monopolizing ideas, information, energy, technology, and the monetary system, in tandem with the systematic sabotaging of our education system, constant intellectual pollution via mainstream media, and the devastating physical and mental effects of the food and pharmaceutical industries. Much of this is justified through a Malthusian-themed strategy of tension involving narratives of overpopulation and resource scarcity, peddled by the emerging Church of Malthus.

It becomes clear that geopolitical domination facilitated by the very fake "War on Terror," "democracy promotion," and "humanitarian interventions," is only one step in a larger plan. As the globalists fight on to destroy the nation-state worldwide, they fight domestically to destroy self-sufficiency and independence. Just as foreign nations become terrorist extremists for resisting the oligarchs globally, we are becoming domestic and economic terrorists for resisting them on the home front.

The Church of Malthus Vs. Real Progress

Energy and matter can neither be created nor destroyed. While Earth contains a "finite" amount of resources, they are resources that with the right technological mastery, can be reused indefinitely. Man is already capable of leaving Earth, and has already landed human boots on the Earth's moon, and robotic probes on Mars, Venus, Titan, and even the asteroid Eros - theoretically expanding our reach and our available resources exponentially beyond what is necessary to reach populations of 10's of billions. Humanity has already built modest orbital habitats capable of sustaining small rotating crews for years.

: An theoretical orbital habitat known as an "O'Neill Cylinder" named after American physicist and real progressive, Gerard K. O'Neill. Instead of mobilizing society to implement a Malthusian nightmare ruled by a planetary regime led by ineffectual, intellectually bankrupt paper-pushers like the White House's Eric Holdren, why not opt for a futuristic utopia enabled by the same spirit of innovation, exploration, and progress that brought man from dwelling in the trees to landing on the moon?
....

For all that's required to implement the radical, nightmarish scenarios proposed by the Church of Malthus to deal with our current "limits of population," the same amount of mobilization and resources could be aimed at technological progress toward achieving greater efficiency on Earth while evolving humanity into a "multiplanetary" species. If we can land on asteroids like Eros, we can likewise mine them, or convert them into orbital habitats envisioned by American physicist Gerard K. O'Neill - known as "O'Neill Cylinders." In fact, an impressive array of solutions lie in wait to solve humanity's problems - waiting for a population educated and brave enough to accommodate them.

Video: Peter Diamandis, who's already literally putting people into space as tourists aboard Russian rockets, calls bringing humanity into space a "moral imperative." A far cry from the Malthusian defeatists calling for the culling of humanity to accommodate "limits of growth," Diamandis points out that the resources we deem so important and limited here on Earth are found in vast abundance in space. Diamandis, unlike Holdren or Gore, is a true progressive.

The cultists of the Church of Malthus celebrate the futility of stunted intellect and defeatism daily in their calls to crawl back into the jungles, cull vast swaths of humanity, and dismantle industrialized civilization, even as they tap on their Chinese-made Macs and poke at their iPhones in their calls to do so. Their cowardice and limited vision is the true barrier impeding human progress, a barrier we as individuals can pass through and move beyond if only we realize several necessary keys. These include education (self-education if necessary), innovation, self-sufficiency, localism, and an orderly exit from the current paradigm we are currently in the midst of.

As abhorrent as each and every feature of the current system may seem, it has in many ways given us this window of opportunity to seize a truly optimistic future for ourselves. It is the shameless, reckless consumerism that has lowered prices and barriers of entry to various industries through competition, technological progress, and supply and demand - however manipulated and distorted they may be. Innovative companies like Elon Musk's SpaceX are gaining prominence by serving such a system, but also introducing revolutionary visions for the future that transcend the current paradigm.

Elon Musk has made repeated calls to make humanity "multiplanetary," a step he claims is as significant as life coming from out from the oceans and onto land. And indeed, this is the next and only logical course for humanity to take as our population continues to grow. And while Musk is optimistic about the future of humanity, it can be imagined that this optimism is in the context of likeminded people prevailing against the likes of the Church of Malthus.

In addition to tapping the vast resources of the frontiers of space, improved, decentralized advanced manufacturing here on Earth has already made it possible for individuals and small groups of people to do what mega-corporations were once the sole monopolists of. Just as computers have enabled industries such as the media to be decentralized, resulting in what is now called the "alternative media," breakthroughs in computer-controlled manufacturing is making similar decentralization possible across various physical forms of industry.

MIT Professor Dr. Neil Gershenfeld has developed the "fabrication laboratory" or "Fab Lab." The Fab Lab is a microfactory that can "make almost anything." His Fab Lab has since been replicated all over the world in what he calls the personal fabrication revolution. It aims at turning a world of dependent consumers into independent designers and producers.

Dr. Gershenfeld in his own words articulates the problem of finding support amongst institutions and governments, stating that individuals are very enthusiastic about this revolution "but it breaks their organizational boundaries. In fact it is illegal for them, in many cases, to equip ordinary people to create rather than consume technology."

This indeed not only encapsulates Dr. Gershenfeld's dilemma, but describes to a "t" the mentality of oligarchs and the fears they harbor about truly empowering the people, a fear reflected in the "organizational boundaries" of their corporations and governmental institutions. This is a feature of oligarchy described as early as 300 B.C. in ancient Greece in "The Athenian Constitution." In it, a character referred to as "the Old Oligarch" describes his contempt for the social mobility the technology of the Athenian navy affords the lower echelons of Athenian society.

Dr. Gershenfeld goes on to encapsulate the true potential of his Fab Labs by stating, "the other 5 billion people on the planet aren't just technical "sinks," they are "sources." The real opportunity is to harness the inventive power of the world to locally design and produce solutions to local problems." Dr. Gershenfeld concludes by conceding he thought such a possibility was 20 years off, but "it's where we are today," noting the success his Fab Labs are already having around the world.

The technical possibility for this to change the world is already a reality, but Dr. Gershenfeld himself concedes that the biggest obstacle is overcoming social engineering - in other words - creating a paradigm shift in the minds of the population to meet the technical paradigm shift that has already taken place.

Self-sufficiency and the harassing of technology in the hands of the people are the greatest fears of the global oligarchy - fears that oligarchs throughout the centuries have harbored. Simply boycotting the globalists' corporations and replacing them with local solutions is something everyone can afford to do starting today. And by simply looking into Dr. Neil Gershenfeld's "Fab Lab," raising awareness of the personal fabrication revolution, and even in the smallest way participating can help overcome the obstacle of social-engineering and spur a profound paradigm shift.

A Call to Action.

There are two competing ideologies - one of Malthusian defeatism leading to a despotic global tyranny the likes of which we have yet to suffer, and one of real progress. There are fortunes and fame to be made from both, but only one leads to a future we will all benefit from. Becoming directly involved in implementing true progress would be best of all. However, exposing, boycotting, and replacing those peddling the religion of Malthus, like the Fortune 500 corporations sponsoring US policy think-tanks, while supporting and raising awareness of those enterprises promoting real progress is an option we can all choose and begin exercising today.

There will be companies and personalities that fall from grace, others that will redeem themselves, and because even corporations like Boeing and Lockheed, Pepsi and Coke, that have damaged America and the world in so many ways still employ well-intentioned and incredibly talented people, there is always the chance that a growing popular movement, exposing and boycotting such corporations may spur more enlightened employees and executives to reform their agenda and allegiances.

The same could be said of corporations like Google or Microsoft - who despite all they've done to enable the parasitic despots of Wall Street and London, likewise have vast pools of human talent that should be encouraged to scrutinize their company's ethics and methods, and if calls for reforms are not met, themselves start an ethical, responsible enterprise the people can truly get behind. There is also immense talent involved in the biotechnology industry - which, while currently committed to domineering humanity - can just as easily be used for the good of humanity.

For too long the TV has determined the agenda, the debate, the strategy of tension along which we are forced to fight - but as the alternative media comes of age, it is time to push back. Make real progress the agenda, evolving humanity together toward goals of a multiplanetary civilization, the leveraging of technology and innovation to solve the problems politicians have kicked back and forth for generations with ineffectual policy, and support dynamic minds like Musk and Diamandis in their goals of advancing humanity in the face of challenge and adversity, instead of cowering in fear with the Malthusians.

Begin today by identifying the corporate-financier interests wrecking humanity, boycott and replace them with local alternatives, and begin promoting the true agenda you believe in - rather than compromising with the false choices allotted to us by corporate propagandists and proxy politicians. The solutions to our problems are obvious, however challenging they will be to implement. Let us stop following feckless cowards intent on sabotaging our collective destiny, and pursue these awe inspiring goals for both the glory and challenges that await us - as we have always done.
