Eric Draitser of StopImperialism.com appears on RT on Friday September 27, 2013 to discuss the issue of "American Exceptionalism" as described by Obama in his speech at the UN General Assembly. Draitser explains how Obama's rhetoric is meant as a response to Russian President Putin's Op-Ed piece in the NY Times which questioned the merits of so-called "exceptionalism". Additionally, Draitser examines the way in which this idea is deeply embedded within the collective psyche of the American people and that this notion is used to justify the worst elements of US foreign policy. Finally, Draitser touches upon the shifting geopolitical landscape in which US power is no longer unquestionable.
